1. When should I move In order to get the best price?
This is a question that we get asked every single day! Sadly, there is no simple answer. However, we always recommend that you contact your moving company well in advance to discuss the best and cheapest dates. As a general rule of thumb, attempt to stay away from busy month endings and if possible try to move in the winter season when the moving industry is at its slowest.
2. Which moving company should I use?
The best thing to do is find a friend or family member who can give you a first hand account of a personal referral based on their experience. If you can’t do that, try referring to online review sites such as Homestars (a very popular review website in the GTA). Yelp is popular as well. I always suggest that you check to ensure your company has an A+ rating on the Better Business Bureau.
3. How early should I begin looking for moving estimate?
The more advanced notice you can provide to your moving company, the better. We have found that 4-6 weeks is best. If you require an on site estimate, it may take 1-2 weeks to receive the most accurate estimate possible. You also may end up reaching out to more than one company. Once you are ready to move forward with a company, you should let them know as soon as possible and confirm your packing, moving and delivery dates. By not confirming well enough in advance, your top choice moving company may be sold out!
